Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Research Technician for our TS&D Lab in Longview, Texas. Our TS&D Lab is for research, development and lab services for Flint Hills Resources Polypropylene business.

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing testing and operating laboratory equipment. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Operating analytical equipment (gas chromatograph, GPC, HPLC, FTIR) and performing testing, data processing and reporting
  • Providing excellent service to customers, supporting product/process creation and data collection
  • Performing proper maintenance on equipment to ensure reliable operation and minimizing downtime and repair costs
  • Learning new laboratory functions

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a laboratory environment to include analytical testing, wet chemistry methods
  • Experience with Microsoft Office to include: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Willing to drive a forklift and willing to obtain a forklift certification upon hire
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing proper safety equipment
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Able to lift 25lbs
  • Able to move gas cylinders around

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • An associate degree or higher in science
  • Two (2) or more years of experience operating analytical instruments (GC, HPLC, UV/Vis, FTIR, et al)
