Georgia-Pacific’s Building Products Division is seeking to hire a Building Products Safety Leader- Analytics and Innovation in Atlanta, GA. This role will provide strategic safety support for GP Building Products’ facilities through the application of the Market Based Management® (MBM®) Framework and Guiding Principles over a 2-3 year assignment. 

 

Additionally, this will serve as a developmental role to transition a site safety leader with limited experience in higher level strategies to a business level safety professional with direct responsibilities within the Building Products strategy.  This role will also serve as business-/division-level bench strength; and nearing completion of the assignment, the successful leader will be ready to backfill a division manager or similar role.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

Creating value for the organization with focus on several key strategies including the following primary areas:

  • Save My Life process (replacing SWP)- initially, the main safety contact for final-stage development, then as the main safety lead toward implementation across the business
  • Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)- key contributor toward the business’ HOP strategy.  Key functions will include leading of Learning Teams investigations, Blue-Line reviews and Hazard Awareness and training.
  • Innovation- leader of the assessment and MOC for new and developing technology (AGVs, ADPs, robotics, drones, etc.) while seeking out new applications for safeguarding in energy control, fall protection, etc.
  • Data analytics- developer of new meaningful metrics to capture safety capacity, the identification of key trends in leading/lagging metrics.

 

 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, process safety, or other safety science or engineering field
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Building Products site safety leader role
  • Willing and able to travel 40-50%
  • Willing and able to relocate to Atlanta, GA

 

 

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated principled entrepreneurship and participation in safety activities beyond site requirements (ex. Division CSO, SPA assessment leader, etc.)
  • Experience managing and developing safety talent
  • CSP, PE, CIH, or demonstrated progress towards achieving certification
