We are seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to to support business analysis and reporting for the Building Products business and will be based in Atlanta, GA at our LEED® Certified, Downtown HQ. This role will create value by providing insightful and actionable operational analysis to various capabilities within the Wood Products group and optimizing reporting requirements to effectively communicate business performance and drive improvement. While in this position, you will obtain excellent knowledge of the key drivers of success for the business and will be provided the opportunity to learn from all levels of management in one of the largest private companies in America. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an understanding of economic thinking principles, strong financial analysis skills, capability with software tools such as Excel, Access, and Tableau and proactive/self-driven work habits. Experience within the manufacturing sector is preferred. Georgia-Pacific’s building products business is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels – namely plywood and oriented strand board – and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes: 
  • Perform monthly reporting and analysis
  • Provide analytical/decision support on manufacturing and business performance as well as capital and expense projects
  • KPI and Cost benchmarking/Bet tracking and Gap analysis to drive profitable actions
  • Division planning and forecasting ownership
  • Drive reporting process to include automation and improvements
  • Report and analyze monthly results & trends
  • Participate in reporting strategy and delivery
  • Perform ad-hoc decision support & analysis to various business teams 
What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Completed a Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • At least three years of Financial Analysis or Reporting experience
  • Able to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior roles with significant ad hoc analysis requirements
  • Experience with Cost Analytics
  • Financial Modeling, NPV/IRR, ROI, and other investment valuation metrics
  • Experience with any/all of the following: variance analysis, gap analysis, benchmarking, KPI tracking, capital projects, forecasting, planning, financial reporting
  • Experience in SQL/VBA, Tableau, Alteryx or other data visualization tools
  • Experience in a Manufacturing and/or Consumer Products environment

  • A high degree of creativity, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset are expected to underpin the approach to accomplishing the above responsibilities
  • Strong business partnership skills with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills are required
  • Willing to lead change, improve processes, and solve problems
  • Proactive/ Self driven work habits with ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer focus and sense of urgency
  • Capability to manage details while still able to communicate effectively at a high level
  • Quickly learn and utilize corporate data systems
  • Proven skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Access and Excel (Power user knowledge and skills)
  • Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others
