Maintenance Supervisor – Asheboro, NC
 
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our corrugated box facility in Asheboro, NC.
 
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and guiding the business goals, plans, and processes for the maintenance department. This leader will use knowledge to develop and carry out objectives, solve problems, and be able to respond to short-term as well as long term department goals. 

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure the maintenance team is meeting the objectives in safety, reliability, quality, cost, and customer service. The candidate will lead and support preventative maintenance programs and provide technical support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies, as well as help employees understand who their customers are and how their work directly impacts spending and profits/loses. 
 
 
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Leadership of Multi-craft Maintenance team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment consistent with MBM® management philosophy and framework
  • Supervise/coordinate maintenance efforts that drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production and costs
  • Support the production processes to align and optimize the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business
  • Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership and holding employees accountable
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved
  • Monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues
  • Provide safety training to crew members; coaching; team development/performance management
  • Data entry and completing/generating reports
 
What You Will Need:
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five (5) years of reliability/maintenance experience with industrial equipment and/or manufacturing equipment, including an equivalence of two (2) or more years demonstrating leadership responsibility
  • Experience in leading improvement efforts in Reliability, and Predictive and Preventive Maintenance
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities
  • Experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other similar problem-solving tools
  • Experience utilizing a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Word and Excel, and other PC-based production and maintenance reporting applications
  • Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in dusty, noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
  • Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote and enforce safe work practices including wearing safety equipment
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
 
What Will Put You Ahead?
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher in a technical field
  • Two (2) or more years of maintenance supervisory experience in an industrial or military environment
  • Electrical/PLC knowledge with direct repair and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment and machine electrical systems
  • Able to read mechanical, structural and electrical drawings
