INVISTA Canada's Nylon manufacturing site located in Kingston, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer - Reliability specializing in Fixed Equipment to join an existing maintenance team.

 

The Mechanical Reliability Engineering role is a dynamic position which is responsible for improving equipment reliability and mechanical integrity across a diverse equipment base. 

 
The Opportunity:
  • Owns the Mechanical Integrity Program for the Site
  • Coordinate and execute inspection, quality assurance, and mechanical/structural integrity activities
  • Liaison with the relevant jurisdictional authorities and insurance companies in matters related to inspection
  • Accountable for defining and implementing strategies for improved equipment reliability and bringing innovative solutions to equipment problems.
  • Work with contractors and inhouse trades on repairs to pressure vessels and piping systems
  • Provide engineering input to capital projects by specifying equipment and developing alteration or fabrication scopes for equipment
You Bring:
 
  • Experience in Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity programs
  • Understanding of potential damage mechanisms in fixed equipment
  • Knowledge of NDE techniques including radiography, ultrasonic inspection, dye penetrant inspection, and sensitive leak testing
  • Ability to present oral/written summaries of all necessary information to the affected personnel or organizations
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
  • A proven track record in achieving improved equipment reliability
  • High level of self-motivation, creativity and flexibility
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
 

Preferred Qualifications:

 
  • Knowledge of fixed equipment fabrication and repair codes and standards
  • Experience in Rotating Equipment Mechanical Integrity programs
  • Certification in one or more of the applicable API inspection codes.
  • Experience working with TSSA Boilers & Pressure Vessel division
