The process control team is responsible for distributed control systems and safety control systems in support of our nylon intermediates manufacturing facility. The process control leader supervises the team and is "hands-on" with some aspects of the work of the team. Work includes configuration changes in support of plant projects, upgrading of control hardware, software, and infrastructure, troubleshooting control problems, and providing support to other operations team members seeking to create value with control systems.


 

Role Responsibilities:


 

 

  • Drive future optimization opportunities with Control Systems
  • Lead the Process Control team to partner with Operations to maximize the value achieved from newly installed operator consoles
  • Work with site leaders on strategies to improve plant performance
  • Collaborate with the corporate innovation team to adopt and implement new strategies
  • Lead the Process Control team to solve day-to-day problems
  • Implement change within change management processes (comply with Process Safety Management procedures)
  • Conduct performance and career planning discussions with direct reports

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering OR HS diploma with Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance or Operations background with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Distributed Control Systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, refining or closely related industry

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to enter and move about in confined spaces and wear personnel protective equipment
  • Must be able to climb stairs in operating unit
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions for various periods of time
  • Must be willing to work periodic workdays in excess of 8 hours



What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledgeable in ABB Distributed Control Systems 
  • Experience with 800XA
  • Experience with Process Control Network Infrastructure
