Based in Brandon, Manitoba, Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC’s operations have been producing agricultural fertilizer products since 1967. We synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 275 dedicated team members. Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC. (KAES) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Human Resources team to be a strategic partner with the business. This role offers a fast-paced working environment and opportunities for career development within our growing organization! 



A Day In The Life Typically Includes: 

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with the Koch Fertilizer Brandon Leadership Team to provide guidance and integrate strategic HR practices
  • Drive application of the talent management process and ensure appropriate and effective incentive models are established
  • Implement and monitor HR best practices, policies, and standards consistent with applicable employment law
  • Oversee performance management processes including compensation programs
  • Develop a team of HR professionals along with their respective capabilities; align work assignments to team member advantages in support of business partner goals and HR team vision
  • Work with plant leaders to continue to implement our Market-Based Management philosophies using appropriate mental models, processes, and tools
  • Create and oversee HR-related training and development programs
  • Ensure the business has the right quality and quantity of human resources to support its growth
  • Provide support and oversight in building sustainable strategies for internal and external talent recruiting and development
  • Supporting local labour initiatives including timely responses to grievances, contract negotiations and dispute resolution


What You Will Need: (Basic Qualifications)



  • 7 + year’s Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting, with a high school diploma OR a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience developing long-term strategic plans through partnership with the business
  • Experience leading multiple projects
  • Experience with the application of Canadian labour law and Human Rights legislation
  • Ability to develop effective business partner relationships with leaders, employees, and union officials
  • Experience with labour relations including grievance and arbitration resolution, contract negotiations and long-term strategic planning for future collective bargaining agreement
  • Ability to assist leaders developing talent capabilities, select, develop, and retain personnel
  • Leadership, business, and organizational skills along with high work standards, strong technical abilities, and personal accountability
  • Experience providing direct supervision of team members, establishing expectations, and holding accountable



What Will Put You Ahead: (Preferred Qualifications)


  • Experience working in a matrix organization that is ambiguous and fast-paced 
  • Experience in HR consulting business capabilities
  • Experience with Global HCM systems
