Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


The successful candidate will be a part of the Engineering & Reliability Team and be responsible for projects ranging from small (<$100K) to multiple million dollars.  They will have responsibilities through the entire project life cycle, from conceptual development to owner hand-off, including:

  • Project development and engineering design oversight
  • Interaction with stakeholders and end-users
  • Schedule development
  • Funding approval and cost tracking
  • Management of change and pre-startup safety review
  • Execution oversight and start-up assistance
  • Ensure the project is performed safely and in full compliance with all laws and that it meets defined objectives for production, cost, reliability, and schedule performance


What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:


  • 2+ years’ project engineering or management experience in the chemical plant or refining industry
  • Ability to work in an integrated capital project environment
  • Ability to work nights and weekend as needed
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Ability to evaluate and identify project needs and opportunities and work independently to achieve goals
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical discipline or 4+ years of project management experience with a High School Diploma


What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5+ years’ project engineering or management experience in the chemical plant or refining industry
  • Knowledge of typical process industry standards, codes, and best practices
  • Experience in fertilizer industry
  • Good understanding of process instrumentation and process control
  • Construction management experience
  • Experience with project economic analysis
  • Experience with piping, valves, and fitting system revisions
  • PMP certification


Physical Requirements

  •  Must be able to enter an operating plant to access and inspect equipment.  Inspections will include utilizing ladders and platforms in excess of 100', entering confined spaces and be capable of utilizing all required personal protective equipment
