Koch Fertilizer Dodge City, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Dodge City, KS.  Koch Fertilizer is an entrepreneurial company pursuing a self-motivated candidate to be a part of the plant maintenance team with a focus on rotating and fixed equipment.  The successful candidate will work with the maintenance team, reliability engineers, planners, schedulers and operations, to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and reliable manner.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes: 
  • Troubleshoot equipment such as valves, piping, heat exchangers, pumps etc.
  • Align rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, motors, turbines, etc.
  • Repair and replace steam and motor driven pumps.
  • Repair and/or replace valves, piping, exchangers etc.
  • Weld on carbon steel and stainless.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Oversee and facilitate maintenance execution during outages and turnarounds


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 ft
  • Unassisted physical mobility around a plant
  • Ability to sit, stand, or kneel as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear a gas mask type respirator
  • Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles
 What You Will Need: (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Two years or more of mechanic experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate humility and respect in the workplace
  • Motivated to seek and understand new skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety
  • Ability to obtain a forklift, scissor lift and mobile crane certifications
  • Ability to work overtime and respond to call outs as needed
  • Valid driver's license
What Will Put You Head: (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Knowledge of rotating and fixed equipment maintenance
  • Maintenance experience working in a chemical plant or refinery
  • Technical degree
