Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC. (KAES) is looking for a Rotating Mechanical Integrity Specialist to join our Operations Excellence capability. The preferred location for the role will be in our corporate office in Wichita, KS but we are open to other office or remote locations.

The rotating equipment Mechanical Integrity Specialist is primarily responsible for fleet-wide support of rotating equipment mechanical integrity program in Koch Ag and Energy.  This includes pumps, compressors, turbines, expanders, fans, blowers, gearboxes, bearings, seals, Etc. This includes development and support for preventative maintenance, asset strategies, repair plans, risk management, and oversight of the fleet MI success metrics.  This position is responsible for supporting and oversight of data relating to Mechanical Integrity.  This position partners with the operating units to support the KAES Mechanical Integrity and Reliability vision.  


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Lead/influence fleet engineers in evaluating risks and assigning risks.
  • Partner with engineering and develop repair plans.
  • Manage Inspections Data.
  • Provide ownership of KAES PSM Mechanical Integrity program.
  • Develop, coach and mentor facility engineers.
  • Evaluate risks and assigning risks.
  • Assist in performing Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs)
  • Develop PM plans, in coordination with Plant Engineers.
  • Partner with KAES OPEX rotating equipment engineer to develop and maintain fleet rotating equipment asset strategies.
  • Partner with operating plants and assign criticality rating of rotating equipment.
  • Partner with rotating engineer to support and develop overall MI program across the fleet.
  • Develop and oversee KAES rotating equipment MI metrics. (TBD later).
  • Develop “dashboards” for remote monitoring of rotating equipment for predictive maintenance.
  • Develop digital transformation tools and technologies on rotating equipment for MI.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:


  • 5 years’ experience relating to rotating/turbo machinery mechanical integrity and mechanical engineering degree. Or, 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment/turbo machinery mechanical integrity
  • Experience developing strategies and processes for fleet MI program that are sustainable.
  • Experience building relationships and communicating cross functionally with operations, engineering, and operations leadership team.
  • Experience with inspections data management.
  • Experience creating collaboration and idea sharing.
  • Possess strong ethics, integrity and humility.
  • Travel up to 30%
  • Availability to work long hours in turnarounds and outages
  • High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to left and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed
  • Unassisted physical mobility around a plant
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather 

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fertilizer industry and/or experience
  • Lube oil and vibration analysis
  • National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel certification
  • Minimum Level II Vibration Analyst
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical)
