Koch Fertilizer Beatrice, LLC is looking for a Safety Leader to join our team. This role leads and oversees the overall Safety and Health program and site safety performance for the plant. The Leader works directly with all employees at the facility to coach, collaborate oversee and support safe and compliant behaviors. As part of a larger organization, the Leader plays a key role in the knowledge sharing and developing of corporate and site level programs. 


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Actively participate in in risk analysis
  • Analyze and report leading and lagging metrics in support of the H&S program improvements
  • Conduct and periodically lead incident investigations and support others conducting investigations
  • Drive the execution of H&S programs, develop and oversee projects to improve process safety
  • Oversee, coach and partner with contract work force to ensure safe operations
  • Ensure emergency response capability is developed and maintained through systems, training and drills
  • Conduct interactive safety and health training and coordinate with Corporate training capability
  • Supervise a team of Safety and Health professionals taking an active role in their development
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other KAES Safety Leads and Corporate Compliance and Ethics team

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years demonstrated leadership and technical ability in areas of OSHA requirements and practical applications

  • General understanding of all applicable compliance programs required in an industrial setting

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work with all levels of the organization

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites software and experience using databases

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or related field

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to wear a gas mask type respirator
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 feet
  • Unassisted physical mobility around a plant
  • Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles
  • Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional or ability to obtain
  • Chemical industry experience
