Koch Methanol, LLC is seeking a motivated Entrepreneurial, and self-driven Terminal Leader for our Greenfield St. James, LA facility.  The successful candidate will help provide guidance in building this new terminal from the ground up and assist with execution plans for a successful startup. Responsibilities will include developing policies, procedures and hiring, training and developing the terminals site team. This role supports operations, maintenance and management of a Methanol terminal consisting of shipment & receipts.  The individual will be involved with the safe handling of transfers & storage of Methanol, shipments via truck, rail and vessel and oversee the maintenance of the facility.  The Terminal Leader will supervise and develop terminal operators and specialty crafts and must have extensive knowledge of LDAR, PSM, RMP, and environmental compliance & safety



A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Leadership and Growth of direct reports
  • Perpetuate a culture of safety quality and reliability with all colleagues, contractors, and guests in the facility
  • Ensures all work is completed safely and cost effectively to achieve the required quality and schedule.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with community and affiliated business partners.
  • Manages unplanned breakdowns ensuring appropriate planning and controls are incorporated into each event
  • Terminal Compliance
  • Terminal up-keep and maintenance
  • Safe product storage and movement
  • Terminal recordkeeping 

What You Will Need: (Required Qualifications)  



  • 2+ years of experience in a technical maintenance and/or operations position
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated abilities to lead and develop people
  • Knowledge of LDAR, PSM, EH&S compliance, and Methanol terminal operations or related chemical type facilities
  • Understand procedures, safety & environmental risks associated with handling, shipping, and storage of chemicals
  • Effectively communicate to managers, customers, and peers
  • Mechanical aptitude or background
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willing to work extended hours and off-shift hours as required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in chemical handling and technical experience or equivalent background
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 ft
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear a gas mask type respirator
  • Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles

What Will Put You Ahead: (Preferred Qualifications)  


  • Experience working with chemical shipping & storage equipment
  • Experience with the equipment needed for the Methanol storing and transfer process
  • 5+ years of experience in a Methanol or Fuel terminal
  • Instrumentation controls/electrical technician background
  • Construction/Projects Background
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Maximo
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years' experience in a Methanol terminal
