The Product Stewardship team is seeking a Product Stewardship Specialist to join our team in Wichita, KS. The Product Stewardship group is responsible for product registrations, compliance systems, product-related hazard communication and management (SDSs and Labeling), product-related licenses, and chemical and pesticide registrations (State, Federal and International). In addition, the Product Stewardship group reviews and advises on marketing claims and intellectual property, such as trademarks and patents and assists sites with Federal reporting obligations. 

 

This role will support the Director of Product Stewardship, working in Koch Companies Services, LLC (subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc.) and will partner with various Koch businesses and capabilities to integrate product stewardship and compliance during all phases of the product life cycle. This role is primarily responsible for supporting chemical registration and data reporting, domestically within the United States.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes
  • Ensure that the business understands, secures, and maintains necessary authorizations under domestic chemical control regulations (EPA TSCA Pre-Manufacture Notices, R&D exemption documentation and various Points of View documentation)
  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance and reporting for various businesses domestically (TSCA Chemical Data Reporting, for various business units domestically (fertilizers, petrochemicals and others)
  • Manage large projects spanning multiple internal capabilities and outside resources in support of chemical registration
  • Cross-train on other domestic and international regulatory requirements (e.g. FIFRA pesticides and international requirements for pesticides, chemicals, fertilizers and additives)
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of Product Stewardship Management Systems for the business
  • Assist and drive the business in the development, implementation and integration of processes, procedures and tools needed to ensure product regulatory compliance and product risk management
  • Support other capabilities to ensure compliant supply chain processes (product formulation changes, supplier approvals, etc.)
  • Conduct self-assessments to periodically review Product Stewardship processes, procedures and tools. Use the results to drive continuous improvement
  • Assist in building and maintaining Product Stewardship Systems
  • Participate in review of intellectual property, trademarks, logos and patents associated with the product lines
  • Ensure that compliance programs and best practices are identified and leveraged appropriately across sites and product lines in order to proactively identify risks, needs and opportunities and effectively manage change
  • Monitor and manage emerging issues in the areas of Product Stewardship, chemical, pesticide regulations domestically
  • Assist sites in chemical evaluations and chemical approvals

 

What You Will Need


Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 2+ years’ experience working in Regulatory Compliance, Laboratory, R&D, Environmental OR Product Stewardship in the chemical, pharmaceutical, fertilizer or petroleum industry
  • Basic knowledge of EPA programs (Ex: TSCA, CDR, PMNs)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Public Health, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time

 


What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

  • 5+ years’ experience working with domestic chemical product licenses/registrations
  • Experience working with chemical regulations or chemical classifications
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, consultants and contract research organizations
  • Experience with EPA, CDR reporting or PMN submission
