A Day In The Life May Include:
 
Process
  • Actively involved in the day to day operation of a process unit, troubleshooting and incident investigations
  • Monitor and assist plant leadership in management of chemical process plant operations to improve reliability, efficiency and capacity while ensuring compliance with standards and regulations associated with site operations
  • Optimize availability and utilization of process equipment at lowest life cycle cost
  • Support the design and implementation of capital projects
  • Participates in root cause failure analysis of operating problems
Instrumentation
  • Understand key performance metrics for instrumentation that drives instrument reliability to optimize product quality and yield.
  • Assist in designing and evaluating instrumentation and safety systems for reliable and safe operations that is in accord with applicable codes and standards such as (ISA 84, NFPA 70E, National Electrical Code)
  • Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and instrument vendors to develop scope of work for instrumentation and process control
  • Support plants with the installation and maintenance of instrumentation during plant shutdowns
  • Participate with Root Cause Analysis teams to identify and eliminate instrumentation that impacts plant and instrument reliability
  • Drive safety and compliance through the standardization of instrument calibration and maintenance
  • Improve operation of process control through managing local controllers and process control tuning 
Project Management
  • Lead and direct projects and coordinate key functions with internal and external technical resources to meet all project requirements for safety, budget, schedule, functionality and quality; meeting or exceeding company and industry standards and expectations.
  • Develop and implement definitive project plans which include risk assessed cost estimates, engineering design, contracting strategies, fabrication and construction, quality assurance, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and project closure to complete projects safely, on time, on budget and with satisfactory quality and functionality.
  • Additional responsibilities include project reporting and cost tracking / forecasting in conjunction with project controls and reporting to senior management

What You Will Need (Requirements):
  • Will have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering on or before June 2020
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Some sites have certain physical requirements including but not limited to:
    • Performing physically demanding tasks repetitively for extended periods of time (i.e., lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling)
    • Wearing necessary Personal Protection Equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes)
  • This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship
