We are seeking an Analyst to join the team! The position supports our North American Consumer Products Division at our large integrated towel and tissue mill in Crossett, AR. 

 

This Analysis role is responsible for cost analysis and related accounting functions, identification of value creation opportunities and ad-hoc requests.  You will be a member of a solid financial team that report to the Mill Controller. This role will provide a wide variety of experience and exposure to multiple product categories here at GP, in addition to the opportunity to learn from all levels of management.  Our work environment is fast paced with a focus on innovation and change therefore the ideal candidate will need to possess a high degree of creativity and resourcefulness.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

This position is a combination of manufacturing accounting  analysis and general accounting, with a focus on raw material inventories.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations through the completion of value added analysis and accounting excellence
  • Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance
  • Lead customer focus by developing strong relationships with the operations team to better understand and anticipate their business needs
  • Provide input and recommendations for process improvements by respectfully challenging historical practices
  • Lead the monthly close process for area of responsibility. Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, cost review packages, variances analysis and other supplemental reports
  • Assist with developing and maintaining a strong internal control environment. Conduct periodic assessments of the internal control processes to help identify and drive corrective actions
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliation to ensure account balances are correct and adequately supported
  • Inventory management
  • Participate in cross-functional business improvement initiatives

 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a 3.0 GPA
  • At least two years of experience in an Accounting, Finance, Analytical or Strategic role
  • Basic understanding of Cost Accounting and of a General Ledger (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, etc.)
  • Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
  • Knowledge of economic principles and marginal analysis
  • Strong intellectual curiosity 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus and sense of urgency is required
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data analysis/manipulation and formula creation, etc., Access-query and PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)

  

What Will Put You Ahead:


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing or Consumer Products experience preferred
  • Coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting
  • Inventory experience
  • Experience with key financial concepts: variance analysis, price/volume mix, product costing and capital investments
  • Experience with and clear understanding of  integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems, database structure (SAP preferred)
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, SQL or other data  visualization/manipulation tools
  • Leadership experience
