Georgia-Pacific is currently looking for an Annual Outage Coordinator to lead the coordination of major outages at our Cedar Springs containerboard mill. This position will report to the Reliability Leader and work with all business units to create and provide maintenance outage/shutdown planning and execution discipline for each area.   The Annual Outage Coordinator will have the opportunity to work closely with area maintenance, operations, capital engineers, Asset Availability Leaders, reliability personnel, and crafts persons to provide effective scheduling of outage/ shutdown functions.  A successful person in this role will provide leadership during the outage process. We are seeking a good communicator with project management skills, who can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


    • Coordinating with the operation and reliability teams to determine the yearly outage/shutdown schedule to maximize equipment operation.
    • Leading the meeting process leading up to outages/ shutdowns and post outage critique.
    • They will have a role during outages/ shutdown to provide updates to business unit leaders and audit the process for schedule effectiveness, cost adherence and quality execution.
    • Sharing safety lessons between business units.
    • Participating in the maintenance duty on call roster.
    • Working as a communication channel between areas to optimize mill wide resources.
    • Developing an outage/ shutdown schedule in Microsoft Project or similar software that allows the mill to work form a combined maintenance schedule. 
    • Work with Business units, AALs, Optimizers, and Gatekeepers to develop the most cost effective schedule for each outage/shutdown.
    • Develop an understanding of Safety standards, Paper machines, Utility and Pulp areas, environmental areas to be able to effectively schedule the correct work at the correct time. 
    • Pull together the project funding requests for each annual outage and submit for approval in a timely manner.
    • Leading by influence using Koch Industries Market Based Management business philosophy
What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Project or Gantt chart scheduling practices.
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical planning
    • 2+ years of experience planning and scheduling large shutdowns/outages or coordinating projects.
    • Experience coordinating a large group of people and leading them towards a common goal.

    • 5+ years of planning and scheduling of large shutdowns and outages or coordinating projects
