A successful candidate will be placed on the Business Development team within KBX Logistics, LLC and will be working directly with the Sales Leader and the rest of the Business Development team in Green Bay, WI.


The focus of the internship is to gain exposure to the customer facing, sales and account management functions of the KBX Logistics business. This role will work with the business development team to support the establishment, development and maintenance of new business. This internship requires self-motivation, goal oriented and dependable attributes in order to maintain on-going relationships and monitor activities with customers and prospects. The successful candidate must have integrity, vision, drive, and interpersonal skills to succeed.

A Day In The Life COULD Include:

  • Working directly with the Business Development team to assist in developing and maintaining business relationships with consistent engagement across the supply chain with multiple prospects and clients
  • Participate in face-to-face client meetings and customer visits with potential clients
  • Deliver information with strong customer service skills
  • Support the development of sales presentation material along with other sales/business development support duties
  • Balancing the clients’ needs with our company’s profitability
  • Reporting and analyzing key performance indicators
  • Building customer and client relationships at operational levels
  • Developing standard operating procedures based on the direction from manager
  • Communicating proactively to end customers and our client as appropriate. 
  • Acting as the “face” of our client to their end customer
  • Providing exceptional customer service while balancing profitability by utilizing all of the tools available and especially the transportation management systems
  • Monitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception to final delivery 
Other internship activities include:
  • Exposure to various departments within KBX Logistics, LLC
  • Internal and external networking events
  • Exposure to KBXL leadership
  • Internship final presentation
  • Collaboration with intern class of about 20

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related degree area
  • Junior status at the start of the internship (May 2019)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willing and able to work full-time for a 12-week period during the summer of 2019

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completed coursework in Sales Management, Marketing, or related area
  • Specialization or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics or related area
  • 3.0 or higher GPA

Other Considerations:

  • This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship
  • This position is located in Green Bay, WI
  • This position has the opportunity to work part-time during the school year in Green Bay, WI in addition to working full-time during the summer
