Koch Heat Transfer is seeking an Machinist at our manufacturing shop located at 4750 Sheppard Ave E., Scarborough, ON M1S 3V7.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Machinist with good mechanical ability, can work well independently, is able to transition from task-to-task as needed and has the ability to embrace change.
The person in this role will report to the Plant Manager.
A Typical Day for an Assembler:
The Machinist will conduct CNC machining and drilling operations. The Machinist will also assist in the movement of materials within the plant, including the use of forklifts, side-loaders, and overhead cranes.  They will support warehouse operations, including helping to load trucks, and various other duties to support manufacturing activities.  The Machinist conducts inspections of units including visual checks and dimensional measurements.  The Machinist must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
What You Will Need:
At least four years of experience with CNC equipment such as quick drill and boring machines.
At least four years of experience setting up, adjusting, and operating a variety of tools to produce precision parts and instruments in a manufacturing environment.
At least four years of experience calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematic and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
At least four years of experience programing CNC machines.  
At least four years of experience in reading blue prints and following drawing specifications.
Have a current forklift license or the ability to attain one within one month.
Have a current crane license or the ability to attain one within one month.
Ability to independently follow detailed work instructions
Must meet the physical requirements of the job.
Physical Demands:
Lifting, bending, stopping, standing, kneeling, squatting.
Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., unassisted.
Exposure to loud noises, fumes, sparks, vibrations, dust, dirt, irritants and smoke may occur.
Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Position requires the ability to operate overhead crane and a forklift.
What Will Put You Ahead:
  • Experience with quick mill machines
  • Experience with MasterCam software
Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal background check.
