FHR Center of Reliability Excellence Houston is responsible for supporting FHR and their operating assets by leading electrical discipline innovation,  facilitating electrical asset strategies including FMCA's,  leading the FHR Electrical Technology Team focused on electrical spec’s and standards, regulations, emerging technology application, etc.
As Global Leader - Electrical, you will join the Reliability Center of Excellence team located in the heart of Friendswood TX providing both tactical and strategic support to twelve of our operating sites. More than just project work, you’ll bring your electrical knowledge to the team responsible for handling the reliability performance of these assets. Your top-notch written and verbal communication skills will prove invaluable as you share input with all levels of the organization. Your willingness to embrace change and engage in the challenge process will serve as a model for our teams as you assist in creatively solving problems and resolving conflicts.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:



The Global Leader should clearly understand the business challenges involved, as well as your personal performance objectives. While some elements may evolve as the needs of the organization change, in this self-directed role you can anticipate:
  • Leading electrical innovation across FHR and participating in Koch Industries electrical innovation plays
  • Leading cross-site FHR Electrical technology teams.
  • Overseeing cross-site Electrical MI and Electrical reliability programs.
  • Assisting with scoping, detailed engineering, and execution of site electrical reliability upgrade projects
  • Driving cross-site learnings and talent across the organization. 
  • Influencing change through the development of effective value propositions.
  • Capturing and sharing electrical learnings across the organization.
  • Supporting site electrical Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Establishing external electrical networks.
  • Supporting site distribution system coordination studies and NFPA arc flash requirements

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of plant electrical experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and regulations
  • Self directed, results oriented, and able to deliver in a very autonomous environment (home office)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Physical Requirements:


  • This role requires up to 70% travel to FHR sites. It may also involve physical demands within a typical refinery atmosphere. This includes the ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, work at elevated heights, lift 50 pounds, and work occasional turnaround or maintenance outage assignments involving night shifts and/or weekends.
  • Travel to sites, walking inside plants, occasional climbing of towers, occasional night or weekend shift assignments associated with projects and turnarounds


This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification and Credentialing rule or "TWIC" and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.

  • B.S. Engineering
  • Leadership experience in a petrochemical environment
