Flint Hills Resources is looking for a Crude Truck Scheduler to join our team at our Corpus Christi, TX refinery.  The Domestic Crude Logistics Group provides crude oil gathering services to support FHR’s Southern Tier crude purchasing strategies.  Department responsibilities include scheduling, measurement assurance, quality management, and data analysis to drive performance improvements while identifying and reducing inefficiencies.

 

The Crude Truck Scheduler will have responsibility for the daily process to gather crude oil by planning, scheduling, and monitoring execution across producers, carriers, and pipelines.  The position works a 7 days on/7 days off rotating schedule and maintains an on-call status after hours during their work shift

 


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


  • Requirements Gathering/Daily Schedule
    • Perform daily process to gather next day load requirements from producers and carriers and draft a schedule
    • Understand needs, constraints and preferences to optimize efficiency, carrier selection, destination, cost, and quality management
    • Work with carriers to ensure that accurate reporting is captured
  • Schedule Execution and Event Management
    • Monitor and intervene when appropriate in the performance of carriers, status of unload stations, replacement loads for dropped/rejected loads, and other operational parameters
    • Respond to unplanned or emergency situations
    • Maintain relationships with a high level of Customer Focus to the producer
  • Information Resource for FHR Personnel
    • Ensure relevant information regarding producer trends, project schedules, truck movements and carrier performance is communicated to your business partners
  • Knowledge Systems
    • Build, improve and drive operational and reporting metrics
    • Support carrier invoice validation process and new lease process
    • Analyze, develop and trend load statistics



What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of experience in a scheduling, logistics or sales/marketing role OR a 4-year degree in lieu of experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Willing and able to work a 7 days on/7 days off rotating schedule which will include 24-hour on-call availability (when scheduled) and mandatory relief coverage 
    • Experience with Intermediate MS Excel functions including graph/chart creation and reporting experience
    • Ability to work holidays and weekends as needed

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or “TWIC” and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
    • Truck scheduling experience
    • Basic knowledge of oil production/storage, pipeline stations, and crude truck transportation
    • Experience working in MS Access
    • Experience with advanced MS Excel functions including pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUP and/or trending
