The Customer Logistics Specialist role is a position that directly contributes to the success and profitability of the account(s). The primary responsibility for this role is to solicit and onboard new customers to the KBXL network. This individual will ensure the successful execution of the day-to-day transportation activities for our customers in terms of cost, service, and communication. The span of involvement ranges from onboarding through ongoing operations. This role will have relationships with both internal and external customers as well as vendors.

A Day In The Life Could Include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service while balancing profitability by utilizing all of the tools available and especially the transportation management systems
  • Identify, maintain and grow a book of business by generating new sales for the KBX Logistics Network
  • Identify customers transportation needs such as: transportation spend, pain point, equipment requirements, negotiations, manage spot boards
  • Monitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception to final delivery
  • Maintaining relationships with clients, customers, vendors, and teammates to ensure cost and service expectations are met or exceeded
  • Analyzing and recommending broad based innovative improvement initiatives for the account with a focus on eliminating root causes of recurring issues which leads to driving down client costs, improving service to customers, as well as maximizing KBX profitability
  • Using professional judgment to assess the impact of tactical decisions/actions on the client and KBX Logistics
  • Balancing the clients’ needs with our company’s profitability
  • Reporting and analyzing key performance indicators
  • Developing standard operating procedures based on the direction from manager
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the account plan to ensure sustainability of our services and expand our service offering footprint with the client
  • Adhering to order management principles defined by our client
  • Acting as the “face” of our client to their end customer

What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications):

  • Associates Degree (or equivalent) or higher and 2+ years’ experience in transportation/logistics OR High School diploma and 3+ years’ experience in transportation/logistics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 2+ years’ experience working directly with clients and customers in the transportation/logistics industry

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
