About The Role:


GP’s Retail Consumer Business is seeking a Director, Commercial Strategy & Analytics, to support our Dixie paper plates and cups business.  The Pricing & Commercial Strategy Sr. Manager will work closely with the category teams and create data-driven insights to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies that accelerate price realization, help achieve various brand objectives, and create long-term value.  This person will also focus on elements of product and portfolio design that help drive cost efficiencies and/or increase the value of our products and brands with consumers and customers.  Lastly, this person will be responsible for working with other Analytics teams to frame and solve complex retailer, brand and consumer questions.  Strong vision, communication and leadership will be required to work across multiple stakeholders and advance a data-driven learning culture.  The role has the support of the Retail Consumer Leadership Team and will have high visibility throughout the organization.  The role will report to the VP of Consumer Knowledge & Analytics and have a minimum of 1 direct report.  


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Working with other Analytics capabilities leaders and junior Commercial Strategy & Analytics team members to frame, quantify, and prioritize problems/opportunities, and provide challenge and guidance along the way
  • Building and sharing knowledge around key category, channel, and competitive trends and their implications to brand strategy
  • Combining knowledge of supply system constraints, competitor positions, and key drivers of profitability to proactively identify price, product, and portfolio optimization opportunities to category teams
  • Identifying key gaps in our knowledge or ability to deliver on pricing opportunities, and working with category and capability partners to evaluate and address these gaps via analysis, research and/or experiments
  • Utilizing tools, frameworks and analyses to make clear recommendations on portfolio design, channel strategy, and price levers (everyday & promotional) for both long-term desired end-state and near-term implementation
  • Working with cross-functional teams in Analytics, Category, Operations, Marketing and Sales to understand implications of recommendations and execution alternatives
  • Communicating effectively with Brand Directors and Category GM to understand their needs and provide recommendations that contribute to and/or align with their long-term vision and strategy
  • Seeking challenge and gaining alignment from senior leadership (e.g. SVP Sales, VP Finance, and GPCB President) on key initiatives

  • Master’s Degree (MBA or related) is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (e.g. Math, Science, Engineering, Economics) is preferred
  • Experience supervising 1+ direct reports is preferred
  • Experience in the retail or CPG industry is preferred
