Georgia-Pacific‘s Consumer Products Group (CPG) is seeking a Electrical Engineer-Power Systems to join our CPG Engineering team located in Green Bay, WI. The CPG Engineering team consists of almost 200 individuals across the United States working with our 15 Tissue Towel and Napkin mills along with our 8 Dixie facilities. The teams focus is on capital project execution as well as run-ability of current assets.  We are engineers, project managers and designers focused on a quality delivery. We partner with our mills as one team, one vision, one result.
 
As a member of the corporate Power and Drives team you will support capital projects across the country, primarily for the Consumer Products Group facilities. Additionally, provide technical support for Georgia-Pacific facilities manufacturing.  This is a great opportunity to grow your technical and leadership abilities.

 
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Providing electrical engineering support for capital projects
  • Developing scopes, estimates, and schedules for the electrical portions of projects
  • Developing conceptual and detailed engineering and design
  • Preparing specifications and bid packages for electrical equipment and installation services
  • Participating in bid evaluation and selection
  • Providing project field engineering, including construction, startup, and commissioning support
  • Preparing project status reports and related communications. 
    Providing leadership for external engineering resources
  • Supporting overall project scope, estimate, schedule, and investment proposal development
  • Supporting project budgeting, spending forecasts, project scheduling, and procurement
  • Providing technical support to GP facilities including power systems support, Arc Flash mitigation, and Electrical Safe Work Practices expertise
  • Applying MBM to drive long term value creation and support GP manufacturing and business partners
  • Using judgment and critical thinking to accomplish goals, increase efficiency, and stay within project budget
  • Providing consultation on complex projects as a top-level contributor/Subject Matter Expert
  • Possessing strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Working effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrating effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Handling multiple tasks simultaneously and organize multiple priorities with sense of urgency
  • Obtaining meaningful feedback from external resources and internal customers
  • Demonstrating a commitment to customer focus and continually seeking innovative ways to improve project execution
 
 
What You Will Need:
  • BS Degree or higher in an Electrical Engineering discipline, ABET accreditation
  • Three (3) or more years’ of Electrical Engineering experience
  • Willing and able travel up to 50% of the time
  • Experience working with power systems, relaying and system modeling
  • Experience using MS office Suite
  • Experience working with National Electrical Code
 
What Will Put You Ahead: 
  • One (1) or more years’ experience in the paper industry
  • Onoe experience and knowledge of Arc Flash, NFPA 70E, motor control and drive systems
  • A minimum of 1 year Project Management experience
  • A minimum of 1 year Maintenance reliability experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • A minimum of 1 year EasyPower Software Experience
