The Wood and Fiber Supply (W&FS) organization ensures that the company's mills maintain a constant flow of logs, wood fiber and chips to sustain its tissue, packaging, paper and building products manufacturing operations. W&FS operates in some 15 U.S. states, and sources its wood from private lands owned by industrial, institutional or individual landowners.
We have a Fiber Manager position open in our Alabama operations that include supporting the following locations: Belk, AL (Sawmill), Talladega, AL (Sawmill), Naheola, AL (Pulp & Paper), Louisville, MS (Chip Plant), and Meridian, MS (Chip Plant).  Our team is growing, and we would love for you to consider us!


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Implementing strategic sourcing and pricing options pertaining to the procurement/sale of fiber for our manufacturing facilities
  • Managing the logistical aspects associated with fiber sales originating from our Building Products facilities located in Alabama (Belk and Talladega), and chip plants located in Mississippi (Louisville and Meridian).
  • Evaluating least-cost sourcing and pricing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Evaluating net sales/volumes using analytical and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Working to build strong business relationships (both internal and external) within operating areas
  • Assisting in helping to drive process improvements and presenting innovative solutions to recurring issues
  • Ensuring all transactions are properly documented and distributed
  • Working in conjunction with W&FS team to monitor and manage all levels of raw material cost to include: Administrative, Capital Employed, Transportation and Wood Cost
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Actively representing Wood & Fiber Supply and the facility operations on local and regional sourcing initiatives

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Wood products procurement/sales experience
  • MBA or other Master’s degree
  • GPS and GIS background
