Are you a professional that enjoys managing the details and implementing new methods to improve the way HR works?  We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to work in partnership with managers, employees and other HR partners at our lumber mill in Pineland, Texas .


Pineland is about 50 minutes east of Lufkin, TX and an hour and a half from Beaumont, TX.   Pineland is a non-union facility which employs approximately 300 people. This position will have the opportunity as part of the Building Products division to assist in strategic human resource initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and mill metrics.  


The individual in this role will be critical to the transformation of our HR model, systems and implementation.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Build credibility and trust with the workforce and leaders.
  • Manage recruiting for hourly workforce and determine solutions to keep a continuous pipeline of talent.
  • Apply judgement based on knowledge and discernment.
  • Must have the ability to influence others on best practices and decision making tied to positive business results.
  • Identify talent gaps (individually and organizationally) that are obstacles to superior results and coach supervisors on the development of gap closure plans. Utilize selection and performance management processes to select, coach and retain talent aligned with Market Based Management®.
  • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management®. 
  • Identify HR Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.
  • Manage timekeeping system (KRONOS) and help to resolve any payroll issues. 
  • Interpreting policies and practices. 
  • Drive innovation in HR functions and processes.
  • Working with detailed information, at time confidential in nature. 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of HR Generalist/Manager experience

  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with preference in Business, HR, Organizational Management or Psychology

  • Previous recruiting experience
  • Previous HR experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
