Are you a talented and experienced Human Resources Professional looking for a new challenge or your next step in your career? Georgia-Pacific has two openings for a Human Resources Business Partner: one that will provide support to multiple union and non-union Corrugated locations on the West Coast and the second to provide multi-site support in Southern California .  The HR Business Partner will work in partnership with the various plant leadership teams along with members of the HR team and have responsibility as part of the Packaging Corrugated division, to design and implement strategic human resource initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and site metrics.  These positions are individual contributor roles and will report directly to the Region’s Senior HR Manager. 

 

The Human Resource Business Partner roles will be home based – candidates must reside in CA or on West Coast/Southern CA close to a major airport. 


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Responsible for driving multi-site salaried talent strategies that will improve the competitive standing of the business.
  • Be a steward for the advancement of Market Based Management® capability.
  • Strategy development of HR policies, programs, and systems. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in HR functions and processes.
  • Overall responsibility for HR Compliance for each site.
  • Ensure strategies are in place for identification and remediation of gaps in HR related risks.
  • Be a resource for business leadership as well as to the HR team in coaching, guiding and policy interpretation.
  • Responsible for Supervisor capability strategies and knowledge transfer.
  • Be a point of escalation for identifying and resolving employee relations issues. 
  • Conduct escalated investigations, if needed.
  • Perform as lead HR Representative in contract negotiations to include any preparation needed and responsible for attending labor meetings or addressing grievances.      
  • Use of data analysis and metrics to drive business strategies for labor. 
  • Managing special projects as needed.
  • Travel 30-40% or as needed (primarily to plant site locations and Atlanta). 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least 2 years of previous experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Manager
  • Ability to travel 30-40% or as needed


What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human Resources experience specifically within Georgia Pacific or another Koch company

  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Change management background with experience in working in a transformational environment
  • Knowledge of CA and WA employment Law
  • Multi-site HR experience
