Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - Palatka, FL

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery

  • Installing and aligning new equipment
  • Performing periodic proactive asset strategies, such as maintenance routes, preventative maintenance, and other tasks to improve reliability and uptime 

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventive maintenance findings

  • Working with the operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs

  • Helping meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste

  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of reliability centered maintenance strategies

  • Executing maintenance tasks in primary craft (Millwright or Pipefitter), and using general mechanics skills to complete tasks outside of primary craft

  • Using pipefitting skills to weld, cut, fit and install piping throughout the facility

  • Applying problem solving methods to identify the root cause and eliminate failures

What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Current welding certification or willing and able to become certified before the 120 day probationary period is completed

  • At least two (2) years of mechanical maintenance experience, e.g.; millwright, pipefitting and/or welding in an industrial environment

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatics systems

  • Experience troubleshooting issues and making repairs on bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors

  • Experience reading mechanical drawings
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings and pumps

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment

  • Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and overtime as required

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical Diploma or higher in Industrial Technology

  • Five (5) or more years of millwright/pipefitter experience in an industrial environment

  • Journeyman status as a Machinist or Carpenter
