This position is a member of the team that is responsible for the infrastructure for all business segments in the GP plant world (non-mills). This role will be heavily focused on performing the RRE’s associated with the Infrastructure Segment Coordinator role for the Gypsum business segment. This position will perform both day to day support and participate in various projects in reviewing and analyzing user needs and requirements and recommending ways to improve systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Reports to the Sr IT Manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Strong written and oral communication skills will be needed as well as strong attention to detail.

 


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


 

Segment Coordinator:
  • Act as point-of-contact for a business/capability area regarding enterprise IT initiatives. 
  • Work in concert with the Enterprise Project Leaders and other Segment Coordinators to drive the implementation of enterprise initiatives, including all testing and rollout activities. 
  • Work within their business, including Application Rep counterparts, to identify concerns and/or gain commitment and alignment with core enterprise product roadmaps, including but not limited to, Microsoft Operating systems for workstations and servers, browsers, Office and Adobe. 
  • Coordinate/schedule upgrade/rollout activities of an approved infrastructure change.
  • Drive the continued alignment of the standards after formal rollout initiatives have completed. 
  • Approve exceptions to the standards that have been vetted by the team.

 

 

Segment Coordinator Commitments:

  • Attend weekly meetings and take action on items as specified in the published meeting notes. 
  • Solicit feedback from the business/capability areas prior to decisions being made in the meetings. 
  • Alert chairperson to agenda additions prior to weekly meetings. 
  • Communicate meeting outcomes to both management and other key stakeholders as needed.
  • Actively bring items of awareness or attention to the meetings for discussion.
  • Be willing to challenge any resistance received to ensure that those expressing the resistance have fully considered the impact (or lack of) and options. 

 

Project Planning, Implementation and Support

  • Regular visits to assigned ‘zone’ manufacturing sites
  • Needs and requirements are discussed with Business
  • Appropriate resources (KBS, vendors) are engaged
  • Schedules and expectations are agreed upon
  • Detailed project implementation plans are developed (if not provided by vendor)
  • Deliverables are aligned with customer expectations
  • Business strategies are supported by working closely with plant and business resources
  • Implementation schedules are coordinated with each site
  • Schedules and expectations are coordinated with vendors
  • Implementation standards are met
  • Project status/issues are communicated with all necessary stakeholders

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required

  • At least 10 years of experience as an IT professional.
  • Technical knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft business applications) and infrastructure (Servers, network and Active Directory) in both project and support roles in a manufacturing environment required.30%
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% and sometimes up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Management of Information Systems
  • Experience supporting business applications
  • Experience with relationship management helpful/preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, leading IT projects and managing IT daily support
  • Knowledge of IT standards and processes preferred
