This internship will run from approximately June-September. This is a full-time internship.
Koch Companies Public Sector, LLC, is a shared-services company that provides legal, government and public affairs services to affiliates of Koch Industries, Inc. around the world.
The Washington, D.C. based Legal team has an opportunity for two Legal Interns that will provide support to either the Public Policy team or Political Law team, in addition to the Deputy General Counsel, Political Law and VP Public Policy. In these positions, you will assist with political law compliance projects or public policy projects.
A successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Entrepreneurial with the ability to shift seamlessly between various tasks during the course of the day
Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
Strong critical thinking, communication, and basic arithmetic skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to succeed in both team projects as well as independently
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
- Assist with political law projects
Assist with public policy-criminal justice projects
Assist with administrative responsibilities e.g. travel logistics, phones, and light calendaring for the Deputy General Counsel, Political Law & Public Policy and the DC Legal team
Legal and policy-related research
Develop, maintain, and improve databases and educational tools
Attend conferences and meetings on behalf of staff and represent the company in a professional manner
What You Will Need:
- Working toward or completed a Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (working knowledge of Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work 40 hours a week Monday- Friday
- Ability to travel up to 5%
- Ability to work in the U.S without sponsorship now or in the future
