Maintenance Mechanic

Georgia-Pacific’s Camden Gypsum facility is searching for a Mechanic to join our Maintenance department.  The Maintenance Mechanic ensures machine uptime through preventative and predictive maintenance and by troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment. The successful applicant will support the Camden facility’s maintenance efforts and strive to further the reliability vision of creating an environment where equipment operates as designed, runs predictably, and never fails.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Participating in a quality maintenance program to reduce production waste and achieve production quality goals
  • Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and up-time
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting in the operation of machinery and production equipment to meet expected performance levels
  • Troubleshooting and repairing issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and other equipment
  • Demonstrating excellent problem solving, communication, and decision making skills and willingness to share knowledge with others

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willing and able to work any shift to include variable start times, nights, overtime weekends and holidays
  • Minimum of three (3) years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment   
  • Willing and able to supply/provide standard and metric tools
  • Experience in repairs, installation, and preventative maintenance of mechanical and industrial mobile equipment
  • Willing and able to work in a team environment interacting with other maintenance employees, management personnel, production operators, contractors, and drivers
  • Experience reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals


What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using a computer to perform the following tasks: email, data entry, document creation
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with fabrication and welding
  • Experience reading blueprints
