Koch Heat Transfer is seeking Assembler(s) at our manufacturing shop located at 4750 Sheppard Ave E., Scarborough, ON M1S 3V7 for both day and night shift.The ideal candidate is an experienced Assembler with good mechanical ability, can work well independently, is able to transition from task-to-task as needed and has the ability to embrace change.


The person in this role will report to the to EHS & Assembly Manager.



A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • The successful candidate for the position will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Conduct mechanical assembly of components, tubes, and machined metal parts using various tools including pneumatic and hand tools. 
  • Conduct testing using air and water systems including set-up, timing, and data recording.  Being able to accurately read gauges and use measuring tools is critical. 

  • Assist in the movement of materials within the plant, including the use of forklifts, side-loaders, and overhead cranes. 

  • Support warehouse operations, including helping to load trucks, and various other duties to support manufacturing activities. 

  • Inspect units including visual checks and dimensional measurements. 

  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs.

What You Will Need:


  • At least two years of experience performing mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.

  • At least two years of experience in material handling such as gathering parts, tools, and materials for assembly.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English.

  • Ability to independently follow detailed work instructions

  • Must meet the physical requirements of the job.

  • Ability to work day shift, night shift, overtime and/or weekends as and when necessary for the business. 





    Physical Demands:


    • Lifting, bending, stopping, standing, kneeling, squatting.
    • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., unassisted.
    • Exposure to loud noises, fumes, sparks, vibrations, dust, dirt, irritants and smoke may occur.
    • Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Position requires the ability to operate overhead crane and a forklift.           


    What Will Put You Ahead?

    • At least one year of experience in hydro testing and/or heat exchanger assembly
    • At least one year of experience working in a formalized quality facility
    • Have a current forklift license or the ability to obtain one within one month.
    • Have a current crane license or the ability to obtain one within one month.
    • At least one year of experience in reading blue prints and following drawing specifications.
