A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


Operations Excellence Specialist – Change Management
The Operations Excellence Specialist will utilize leadership, influence, operations experience and communication abilities to analyze and identify change improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems at multiple GP Manufacturing sites.  They will work with project team members and site team members in capturing strategic value opportunities and implementing proven operating practices within a core set of designated workstreams: Management Systems; Organization; Production; and Asset Care.  These workstreams are designed to improve a site’s competitive position in regard to OEE, cost, quality, reliability, risk reduction, and overall operations excellence capability. OpEx Specialists will need the ability and courage to coach several levels of leadership, including front line leaders, and shop floor technicians.  Progress in achieving improvement opportunities will be continuously measured and communicated against established baselines.  They will address barriers impacting progress in a professional and collaborative manner. The position will be home-based, requires 90% travel, and working in a manufacturing/industrial environment. This role is a new capability. It will have high visibility with key site and corporate leadership and will be working on a team to deliver significant financial bets to the business. It is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow with an innovative team and to gain knowledge of the GP Manufacturing businesses.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver value results in an industrial, manufacturing, or operational environment
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to include establishing rapport, careful listening, building trust, overcoming barriers, and coaching a diverse range of customers
  • Shop floor experience in the application of optimization processes and tools
  • Demonstrated project management skills that deliver intended scope on-time and within budget
  • Demonstrated capability in organizational behavior and change management
  • Project management capability for effective prioritizing, managing time, and appropriately escalating issues
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with key capabilities at customer sites
  • Facilitation experience with FMEAs, RCAs, value stream mapping, or similar processes
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, able to generate ideas with ability to coordinate resources for implementation towards a successful outcome

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or economics required
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting; direct experience must include at least one of the following responsibilities: Asset performance, Maintenance/Reliability or Operations
  • Prior experience with effectively developing, influencing, and successfully executing significant change initiatives
  • Able to travel 90% from Monday through Friday with occasional weekend travel
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Management or Supervisory experience to include P&L responsibilities
  • 10 years Operations and/or Production or 10 years Maintenance and/or Reliability experience
  • Consulting experience
  • 6-Sigma, TPM or Lean Manufacturing certification
