The Process Control Network (PCN) contains the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other key production systems at INVISTA.  This is a critical, hi-integrity, 24x7 availability infrastructure / networking environment. This position requires strong ownership, leadership, critical thinking, design, administration and troubleshooting skills to assure best-of-class security, performance, and integrity for these mission-critical systems.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

 

  • Provide robust, high security PCN environments through collaboration and interaction with IT teams, Operations and control system vendors.
  • Act as the key focal point for projects to assist in the design and implementation of high-security Process Control Network environments.
  • Work closely with Process Control Engineers, Technicians, and site operations groups to ensure accountability for, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting site process control system networks, workstations, servers, etc. in all levels of the Process Control environment.
  • Perform software upgrades, patching and anti-virus deployment / support to security applications, network and server operating systems and layered software packages within the PCN.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and information tracking including IP address management, port maps, user accounts rule-base policies, fiber and networking diagrams, etc., as related to network and process control system infrastructure.
  • Provide accountability for physical security and infrastructure / environmental monitoring for the PCN.
  • Work with INVISTA and other Koch IT teams to ensure efficient and secure integration of data and applications with the business side of the PCN firewall.
  • Collaborate with other PCN Infrastructure Analysts and the IT infrastructure team in defining / documenting cross-site support standards and procedures, developing PCN training materials, and establishing best practices for PCN IT Infrastructure support.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting IT equipment up to 50 pounds, on occasion
  • Capable of handling moderately long walking distances, on occasion
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment with moderately high temperatures, on occasion
  • Capable of utilizing a ladder to access IT equipment and working in moderately confined workspaces, on occasion
  • Capable of working in personal protective equipment as typical in a manufacturing site

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science degree or closely related degree from an accredited college or university OR a minimum of two years of experience working with process control networks or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft based systems (server & workstation operating systems), and Cisco networking equipment & troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working in industrial control environments or modern DCS/PLC control system platforms
  • MCSE (Microsoft), CCNA (Cisco) and / or VMWare certifications
  • Experience with industrial wireless technologies, industrial protocols, network analysis tools, and implementation best practices, including 802.11 and 802.15 protocol families
