Products Researcher – Retail Category
 
This dynamic and highly visible role will harness your entrepreneurial ability, consumer advocacy, technical depth, strategic thinking, and economic skills to build product pipelines and create new ventures for GP’s current and emerging retail categories. 
 
 
 
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
 
The selected individual will create long-term value by leading identification and advancement of winning product-driven consumer experiences in a variety of retail categories from experimental discovery to commercialization by:
 
  • Gathering and translating consumer needs into business opportunities resulting in robust product pipelines for new and existing categories.
  • Building winning ideas into testable product prototypes to quickly learn, iterate, and move forward.
  • Designing experiments to assess technical viability, consumer relevance and economic value of ideas.
  • Connecting emerging technologies to category needs, and developing the partnerships needed drive innovation programs in new directions
  • Defining critical technology strategies, including providing thought leadership in competitive category product and technology trends.
  • Partnering with business and technology partners to identify long-term innovation needs and build strategies and tactics to accomplish the goals of the organization.
  • Influencing the organization and leadership through strong interpersonal skills and initiative while embracing a risk-based approach to drive decision making.
 
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering technical field.
  • Seven (7) or more years’ R&D experience developing consumer products from concept to commercialization.  Connecting consumer insights to a broad range of value creating solutions (product, services, business model, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing a long-term product strategy in a consumer led innovation role.
  • Partnering with business and operations counterparts on pipeline development
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25%
 
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s or PhD
  • MBA
  • Five (5) or more years of product strategy work (in addition to seven (7) or more years of technical PD work)
  • Experience driving decisions with leadership coupled with strong project management skills
  • Experience collaborating with remote coworkers
  • Familiarity with papermaking and converting manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with nonwovens production and converting.
