Koch Heat Transfer is hiring a Project Manager for our facility in Toronto.
 

The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated and result oriented individual responsible for being the central point of customer contact for the engineer to order products manufactured by Koch Heat Transfer.

 

The Project Manager should have excellent organizational skills to track and report, to both internal and external customers, on job progress and expected completion dates in a timely manner.  The Project Manager should have a proven record on problem-solving skills and anticipating any potential issues and work with customers in a fast-paced environment.

 

The ideal candidate will be a Professional with demonstrated integrity, customer focus, and embrace change. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, can efficiently multi-task, have superior communication skills, and the ability to work and succeed in a high degree of uncertainty and complex interactions. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of managing time sensitive projects, implement process improvements and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

 

The person in this role will report directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Manager of the PM Group.

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Ensure projects awarded to Koch Heat Transfer are fully executed within the project scope, the requested lead time, with the highest quality standards and within the assigned budget
  • Oversee project planning, identify critical path, identify internal contracts and external project needs. Establishment of critical project milestones and reporting structure, to achieve optimum effectiveness.
  • Negotiate with global vendors/subcontractors and with global customers and EPC’s any scope change, any cost adder, any variance to the original project
  • Provide feedback and organize information requested by Estimation/Sales Eng. department to facilitate more accurate estimations
  • Able to determine cost of adders and pass information to clients and get agreement in a direct manner
  • Ensure milestone payments reflect terms of order and follow up with customer if necessary.
  • Provide feedback and provide information requested by Finance department in order to facilitate accurate financial reports and projections
  • Respect all the Safety Procedures, always addressed to an improvement of Safety conditions and to the reduction of the number of injuries
  • Work on assigned ad-hoc project within the global supply chain project: may range from scouting new vendors to special projects, etc.,
  • Some travel may be required.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology

  • At least three years of working experience with a manufacturing company in a PM role

  • At least one year of working experience with ASME Code, TEMA, NACE, and/or API

  • At least three years of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) experience, preferably in the Energy sector

  • At least one year of experience reading fabrication drawings

  • At least three years of experience using MS Office products (Outlook, Word & Excel, power point)

What Will Put You Ahead?

  • At least five years of working experience with a manufacturing company in a PM role

  • Experience with the manufacturing of shell and tube hairpin heat exchangers

  • Working knowledge of welding and/or NDE activities for heat exchangers

  • Work with purchase orders, quotes, and or purchase specifications

  • PMP or related Project Management certification (non IT related)
