Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a talented Reliability Coordinator at our Palatka, Florida facility. Located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 975 people has three tissue paper machines which produce consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels, as well as two Kraft paper machines.

 

This position will work in the Power & Recovery Department and works closely with operations, reliability, finance, and maintenance teams to continuously improve the planned work process, advance precision maintenance methods, and create an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health, and Safety.


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Providing positive leadership through the effective application of the MBM® business philosophy.
  • Ensuring maintenance work is executed in a way that enhances reliability of the facility.
  • Managing efficient execution of maintenance efforts, including a disciplined work process.
  • Working collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Asset Availability Leaders, and frontline manufacturing employees to prioritize maintenance opportunities.
  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating equipment/process outages using Gantt charts.
  • Facilitating post-outage critiques to foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Holding the team accountable to flawless execution of outages and schedule adherence.
  • Clearly articulating the expectation of asset preservation and investment to implement repairs correctly the first time.
  • Driving precision maintenance through explicit expectations and influence.
  • Confirming accuracy of parts against work orders.
  • Utilizing economic and critical thinking skills to ensure maintenance spending is within plan and major deviations are understood, communicated, and approved.
  • Tracking maintenance spending for the department.
  • Monitoring and coaching others on work processes to promote operational excellence.
  • Implementing ownership work system principles to improve technician care, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.
  • Utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to find and resolve equipment issues.

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • 2-year degree or higher in a technical related field with 5 years pulp and paper manufacturing experience OR high school diploma or GED equivalent and 8 years of experience in pulp and paper manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance requirements for shutdown and outage steps.
  • Experienced with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) or SAP
  • Experience communicating with multiple levels of an organization (peers to senior leadership) via reports, email, verbally, and in small and/or large group settings
  • Knowledge of reliability and maintenance best practices

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project management skills, including the utilization of Microsoft Project.
  • Previous experience using INDUS Passport.
  • Experience with Kraft Recovery, Pulping, or Power Generation processes.
  • Understanding of asset maintenance and asset reliability work  
  • Experience maintaining departmental budgets or maintenance spend
  • Experience defining and optimizing production and maintenance plans
  • Experience with facilitating Root Cause Analyses.
