We are seeking an Senior Accountant to join the team at our Location in Mt. Holly, NC - a suburban city in northeastern Gaston County. This position will be responsible for manufacturing accounting, reporting, and analysis for the Nonwovens Mill in our North American Consumer Products business.  This role allows for gaining knowledge and experience for advancement to positions of greater responsibility and technical ability throughout the company. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. A strong desire to acquire new proficiencies are keys to this position.

 

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

 

This role will create value by:
  • Providing excellent Accounting services for the facility’s Operations and Capabilities teams
  • Driving and supporting a strong Internal Financial Controls environment
  • Partnering with Operations, providing insightful and actionable reporting and analysis to drive operational improvements
Responsibilities:
  • Perform financial closing procedures, variance analysis, and balance sheet account analysis with a focus on inventory
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Inventory reports, physical inventory counts and adjustments as well as  variance analysis
  • Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance
  • Participate in financial control self-assessments and self-audits of adherence to required minimum required control standards, and help drive corrective actions
  • Maintain product costing models and participate in annual standards setting process
  • Identifying key business trends through benchmarking, KPI tracking and analysis

 

Basic  Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • At least THREE years of experience in and Accounting and/or Financial Analysis role
  • General understanding of overall accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, etc.)
  • General understanding of intercompany transactions, and month end closing
  • General understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
  • Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through innovation and automation
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Accounting and/or Inventory Management experience
  • Prior experience in a Large Corporate Accounting, Manufacturing, or Public Accounting environment
  • Experience in Excel macros and SQL/VBA, Tableau, Alterx or other data visualization tools

  • Able to prioritize his/her own workload to ensure optimal outcome

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others
