We are seeking a Senior Accountant at our Corporate Engineering office in Green Bay, WI to support our Consumer Products  Engineering team.  The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and an affinity for data mining and analysis are keys to this position.



A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


This position will provide accounting, analysis, reporting and process improvements for our engineering department and the major capital projects we execute.  This role will work closely with our project managers, engineers, accounting staff, and project controls.  This position will assist the manager of accounting with accounting duties and identify/lead efforts to standardize/optimize accounting processes across CPG Sites. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Manager of Accounting for the CPG Engineering team.
  • Cost analysis and review of project adherence to the tax and capital policies
  • Accounting support for large capital projects and the engineering department to drive competitive engineering services
  • Ownership of the Fixed Assets workbook
  • Execute, review, and document the accounting, reporting, and internal time tracking processes and systems for the department. Learn new systems being implemented and be an SME for other mill sites.
  • Work with project managers, facility accounting, and corporate accounting to standardize and optimize accounting processes across CPG.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with the appropriate parties to implement solutions related to the project procure-to-pay process
  • Develop reports and metrics for project, portfolio, and engineering financial management
  • Accounting support for month-end closing activities with a focus on internal engineering billing to projects
  • Aid other process and system improvement initiatives as needed
  • Drive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automation
What You Will Need:
Education Required:
  • Bachelor Degree or Higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or Quantitative field

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting, Analysis, Engineering or Audit role
  • Solid understanding of overall Accounting Functions (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, Accruals, Month End close) and Cost Accounting principles
  • General understanding of the design/purpose for internal financial controls
  • Prior experience learning new systems and/or improving processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word – document creation, formatting and editing etc. and Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation, PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP Experience / SAP Super User
  • Prior system/software implementation experience
  • Experience creating visualization of data in software like Tableau and/or Power BI to develop metrics and add to analytical process
  • Experience using Automation Software (i.e. Bots, RPA, etc.)
  • Capital projects experience – Accounting, Tracking, Controls, Forecasting
  • Fixed Assets (decision support, additions, disposals, depreciation, etc)
  • Accounting coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting
  • Lean Six Sigma or other project management certification (PMP)
