Do you have strong technical knowledge in electrical systems?  Do you see value in communicating with others (vendors, construction crews, and other business partners) to achieve goals?  If so, Georgia-Pacific’s Building Products Division is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team (ideally in Atlanta, GA).  Other locations may be considered.

      

Responsibilities:

      

The Senior Electrical Engineer provides technical expertise and project engineering as required to support the Building Products Division capital execution plan and operations.  This position will be responsible for the electrical project development, design, procurement, construction and start-up of various projects within the Building Products Division.  There are approximately 75 Building Products facilities across the US.  This position requires up to 50% travel to the various facilities. The Senior Electrical Engineer will have direct impact on safety, cost reduction, and process improvement at our facilities and must have the ability to manage multiple projects. 

      

What You Will Need:

      

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • BSEE or BSEET and eight (8) or more years of electrical engineering experience as a site engineer in a manufacturing facility, member of corporate engineering team, and/or as a consultant
  • Experience as a project engineer or field engineer
  • Experience with PLCs and VFDs
  • Experience utilizing AutoCad and Microsoft Project
  • Experience in estimating engineering and project costs as well as bid preparation
  • Experience in scheduling and monitoring of engineering and construction activities
  • Experience in the design of Power Distribution and grounding
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, as needed 

 

What Will Put You Ahead?

      

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience with Power Distribution up to 15kV
  • EIT Certification
  • PE Certification
  • Experience with Rockwell Control Logix PLCs and PowerFlex 753 VFDs
  • Experience in applying NFPA and OSHA requirements pertaining to Electrical Systems and Electrical Safe Work Practices
