Title:
Senior Process Engineer – Refining Utilities
 
Location:
Corpus Christi, TX
 
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
 
The Sr. Process Engineer is a key member of the site process engineering team.  The people in this role performs three key roles at our site:
  • Driving the long-term technology plan for the Utilities systems – setting the long-term vision and driving plans for continuous improvement. 
  • Providing subject matter expertise in the above unit technologies for Process Safety and our project teams
  • Mentoring and developing unit process engineers to advance knowledge of unit technology, develop process engineering skills and optimize our units.
The work will include:
  • Developing plans and visions for cooling water, waste water and steam systems technologies.
  • Assessing and prioritizing gaps in operations compared to industry best in class.
  • Finding the key opportunities and developing them into projects to advance change.
  • Co-managing projects through the development of PFDs and P&IDs and thereafter driving projects through execution and evaluation.  
  • Providing technical process engineering support to PHA evaluations, MOC processes, turnaround scoping and as needed to operations. 
  • Mentor to process engineers who are performing unit monitoring and optimization, advancing skills in both unit technology and process engineering. 
 
What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Eight (8) years, or more, of engineering support in refinery operations.
  • Five (5) years experience either operating or optimization Cooling Water, Waste Water and/or Steam Systems
  • Driver's License
Education Required:
  • BS in Chemical Engineering
 
What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 8+ years of Cooling Water, Waste Water and/or Steam Systems
  • Process modeling with Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Utilities.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional teams.
  • Root Cause Failure analysis and reliability assessments.
