The Technical Services Group, Packaging & Cellulose, is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join the Power & Utilities Group. This team provides technical support for Packaging and Cellulose facilities in the areas of chemical recovery, steam production, power generation and distribution, water treatment, and air quality control.  The Senior Process Engineer will provide senior staff level engineering expertise for conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, design, construction, operation and trouble-shooting of steam and electrical generation and chemical recovery facilities. This position can office in Atlanta or home-based (preferably in the southeast).

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

  • Conceptual design of state-of-the-art steam, power generation and chemical recovery facilities and equipment
  • Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies for modification of existing facilities
  • Scope development and implementation of repair, upgrade and compliance projects
  • Manage the coordination, review and approval of work completed by engineering consultants
  • Check-out and start-up assistance for new facilities
  • Analyze problems within existing systems, and provide recommendations for correction
  • Perform safety and reliability audits of the Georgia-Pacific manufacturing facilities in the power and utilities area

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or applicable education or training with strong experience and qualifications relating to steam or electrical generation or chemical recovery equipment
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:  engineering design, construction, operation, maintenance, manufacturer’s technical service representative
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

Preferred Qualifications:
  
  • Bachelor’s of Science or higher degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Design level subject matter expertise in one or more areas of steam and electrical generation and chemical recovery technology
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in steam and electrical generation and chemical recovery
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel from mill operating and maintenance personnel to top corporate management
  • Multi facility exposure to related technology
