Senior Sourcing Manager
 

The Senior Sourcing Manager is part of the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) capability, responsible for more than $200 MM in MRO spend across all Georgia-Pacific business units including Consumer Products, Building Products and Packaging & Cellulose.  This role reports to the Director, Sourcing – MRO (Distribution). Some key categories within MRO (Distribution) category are General Mill Supplies (GMS), Bearings & Power Transmission (BPT), Fluid Power & Pneumatics (FPP), Pumps, Motors, Air-Compressors, Rental Equipment, Mechanical Seals & Electrical goods.

 


 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Understand compliance requirements for related categories, develop and maintain processes to ensure GP meets laws and regulations
  • Develop and execute Category Strategies by working jointly & coherently with key stakeholders/Cross-Functional Teams (Suppliers, Field Procurement, Reliability & Operations, MDM, Central Buying Team)
  • Manage tactical/strategic supplier relationships across all sub-categories
  • Continuous application of Decision Analytics & Economic thinking to minimize TCO for GP/Koch Industries
  • Develop and drive Cross Functional Teams to execute projects and initiatives in the most efficient and profitable way
  • Leverage Analytics capability to optimize transactional efficiencies as well as to uncover waste and sub-optimized processes across categories
  • Leverage Sourcing/Category management tools such as Should-Cost models, Market Benchmarking, Market Index Tracking, Kraljic Matrix, Public Data Analysis, etc. to maximize value
  • Establish Supplier/Category performance metrics and KPIs and drive Continuous Improvement/Innovation over time in all applicable categories
  • Be(come) the subject matter expert in the assigned categories
     

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Purchasing/Sourcing, Capital Projects, Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, or Industrial Sales & Distribution
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 10-25%, possibly internationally

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or Manufacturing process-related degree
  • Experience in Operations Management, Process Improvement, Reliability Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Sales & Distribution, or Innovation Projects/Programs, ideally in or related to Manufacturing/Operations environment
  • Experience as a Strategic Management, Operations, or a Supply Chain Consultant
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies
