The Georgia-Pacific facility in Newington, NH produces a variety of gypsum wallboard products. A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

 

  • Leading a forward-looking pre-shift meeting to establish a solid plan for each day’s success in EHS excellence, Quality, Availability, and Rate Efficiency.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing shift members. Holding them accountable in a respectful manner to achieve the plant’s goals and to maximize their long-term contributions.
  • Ensuring that shift members are utilizing safe operating procedures, operator basic care routes, and Startup/Changeover/Shutdown checklists as expected to create value.
  • Walking the entire plant floor daily to ensure that Zone Ownership and housekeeping expectations are being met.
  • Developing a team that does not rely on “work-arounds” to enable the concept of “running wounded” when equipment is not in a precision state.
  • Responsible for developing a mindset that equipment reliability is everyone’s responsibility
  • Capability to rotate to other shifts infrequently (perhaps, 1-2 times/year), as needed
  • Leading shift members to proactively identify and assist in mitigating workplace hazards, especially Critical Hazards.
  • Communicating Critical Hazard mitigation plans and progress with all shift members
  • Establishing and carrying out a weekly plan for contacting and coaching all team members
  • Assisting in resolving complaints and issues as well as problem solving; communicating issues and results daily
  • Acting as a positive change agent for continued development and improvement
  • Filling in for the Production Resource Manager as requested.

 

 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience leading or supervising a team
  • Willing and able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Willing and able to promote safe work practices 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook & Excel
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive positive change in an organization

 

 


What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience successfully fulfilling multiple operating roles in a Gypsum production environment
  • Experience as a Shift Supervisor in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a Team Leader, Quality Coordinator, Training Coordinator, and/or Master Technician role
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Experience utilizing computer systems (QMMS, Quality Systems, Microsoft Office, and incident reporting systems).
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to coach and mentor shift members in the execution of their daily work.
