 Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Converting Engineer for our Technical Center in Neenah, WI. This is a position within converting platform team where you will develop new products and improve our existing equipment. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Interacting with product developers and business teams to understand and apply appropriate converting process and technologies to meet present and future business needs
  • Connecting with OEM’s, engravers and other material suppliers (i.e. adhesives, roll coverings, etc.) to understand the vision for their technology and in turn communicate our needs
  • Analyzing data with a creative and open-minded approach
  • Developing knowledge processes for converting technology that will preserve or improve the product
  • Exploring new technology options to improve products, equipment and process.
  • Coaching as needed within the platform, product development, and operations
  • Supporting the organization through developing Intellectual Property strategies that include landscape investigation, invention disclosures and patent applications
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, to include international travel
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in an engineering discipline, particularly tissue/towel converting
  • Experience working in an R&D environment to include conducting investigations, research and running trials
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Engineering Degree (M.S. or PhD) in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing
  • Experience managing people or teams
  • Experience with controls programming
  • Experience working with motors, drives, devices
  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in tissue/towel converting
