John Zink is looking for a motivated and self-driven Technical Sales Specialist for our Process Engineered Solutions Retrofit Team.

 

This role will specialize in PLC, electrical, controls and/or automation retrofits. The successful candidate should possess strong technical skills as well as excellent communication skills. Previous sales experience or experience in the oil/gas market is highly desirable.

 

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 

 

• Developing relationships with customers

 

 • Reviewing customer inquiry packages for process, technical, and commercial requirements

 

 • Qualifying the requirements internally as well as researching alternate solutions

 

 • The preparation of detailed technical / commercial proposals

 

 • Engineering design and equipment selection

      

• Developing cost estimates

 

 • Making technical / sales presentations to clients

      

• Negotiating legal and commercial contracts with clients

      

• Working closely with the field team and outside sales in developing retrofits for customers

 

• Developing and maintaining relationships with internal groups such as field technicians, controls engineering, project managers, drafting, purchasing, legal, accounting, and manufacturing


 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

 

 • 1+ years of experience in technical sales in a related industry and/or relevant experience in a related industry

 

 • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and/or Controls Technology or 5+ years of electrical/automation experience with oil and gas processing equipment

 

• 1+ years of experience in technical sales or 2+ years in customer facing role

      

•Understanding of PLC components, P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, process engineering, data acquisition, and automation

      

• Occasional exposure to customer facilities; proper PPE must be worn at these times

      

• 15-25% travel required

   

 

 

 

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering and/or technical sales in a related industry

 

 • Experience with Combustion Equipment

      

• Understanding of PLC logic and programming

 

• Proficient in Salesforce

 

• 3+ years of system and/or process design experience or other technical engineering experience within an "engineered to order", manufacturing environment
