KBX Logistics is searching for a talented individual to join the Contract Management/Procurement team. The core responsibilities of the role will include carrier rate, pricing and capacity support, analyzing data to determine opportunities to better service our businesses, and supporting operations from a contract and pricing perspective. The successful candidate will assure compliance with all laws and regulations, have knowledge of transportation industry, be analytical and have a high degree of organization and time management skills. 


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Process, file and verify signature on contracts to include rate and rules appendixes for various carrier modes and divisions
  • Ensure we have carrier agreements in place, filed and that agreements are enforced
  • Act as gatekeeper for all administrative carrier pricing and contract documents and records
  • Develop rate proposals and transportation cost analysis for all businesses
  • Support the onboarding and approval process of carriers as required by all businesses
  • New rate development work for all businesses; including work to minimize spot quoting
  • Develop transportation rate and cost analysis for negotiations, contracts, cost control and carrier meetings
  • Minimize rating errors for transportation system group and serve as liaison between carrier and system to correct errors
  • Develop and sustain the processes for gathering timely compliance information from carriers and handling confidential carrier pricing information
  • Qualify & develop carriers for servicing Georgia-Pacific & KBX Logistics broad range of businesses and companies 
  • Support information on carriers being correctly entered in the Carrier Management system
  • Analyze carrier’s OTR, dedicated, intermodal, & LTL rate proposal and impact on overall freight costs
  • Perform truckload OTR, intermodal & LTL RFP’s
    • Develop & execute rate and capacity strategies
    • Support and adjust dedicated lanes when doing bid work
  • Serve as liaison with the carrier as an agent of Georgia-Pacific on pricing, contract, invoicing issues, and new lanes
  • Lead pricing initiatives for assigned Operations Region -- support capacity needs for lanes / facilities, new carrier development, support service needs, and cost initiatives, and support new business opportunities
  • Support pricing and contract activities for our new business including Koch entities and outside businesses

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area
  • 3+ years of experience in truckload transportation pricing, contracts, or bid work

  • Transportation experience working with specialized equipment such as flatbed, LTL, bulk, or tankers OR international transportation knowledge (port drayage)

  • Proficiency in Windows – Outlook, Word
  • Advanced Excel skills – if/then/vlookups/pulling and pushing data

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of negotiation experience in a corporate environment

  • Previous experience working in transportation brokerage
  • Microsoft Access experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project management

  • Microsoft Access or related program experience desired
