A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


 

The Information Security Engineering Manager will report to the companies Chief Information Security Officer and be a hands-on manager, leading a team of security engineers to assess and mitigate information security risks across the company.
 
This role will coordinate security activities across Georgia-Pacific’s (GP) operating units and third-party infrastructure providers in a complex multi-business, multi-platform IT environment. The candidate will assess new security solutions, determine effectiveness of existing solutions and work with internal teams to implement security.  Candidate will work collaboratively in providing technical expertise to identify gaps, assess risk and vet current and future security solutions; including manufacturing, cloud, IoT (Internet of Things) and mobility.  The candidate will facilitate the creation of security policies, standards & procedures across business and manufacturing environments.   Additionally, provide support in development of security metrics, dashboards and execution of audit & assurance activities as needed.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, be highly skilled in cyber security technologies within both business and manufacturing environments and have a strong passion to work in a collaborative team environment to take a security to the next level.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead security engineering function and develop & manage team of security professionals
  • Facilitate development of security roadmaps with manufacturing and business IT teams
  • Consult with business units and manufacturing teams to ensure security solutions are designed and implemented to support manufacturing, cloud, IoT strategies and mobile technologies.
  • Develop an ongoing security assurance program to audit, monitor and verify the effectiveness of security; analyze data, develop trend analysis and ensure compliance to existing standards, policies, and procedures
  • Develop methodologies and perform security audits to identify gaps and drive implementation of security policies, standards and best practices across the organization
  • Manage and implement strategic security projects and initiatives as required
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, ability to set a vision and gain alignment across the organization
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and confidently (oral, written, presentation)
  • Superior interpersonal and consultative skills with ability to manage others
  • Strong experience in a Microsoft centric infrastructure and clear understanding of modern security tools, networking, authentication methods and cloud security capabilities
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge in implementing and operating various security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, or similar models
 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in the cyber security field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing security teams in a security engineering function
  • At least 5 years’ experience in technical support and information security design architecture with Microsoft technologies, risk analysis, compliance testing, application vulnerability assessment and security policy development
  • Hands on experience with network security architecture, firewall configuration and operation, VLANs, intrusion detection and analysis, authentication methods, encryption, risk assessment methodologies and tools
  • Strong technical background in Microsoft security technologies, Windows OS system administration & configuration, Active Directory, domain structures, user authentication, configuration and security monitoring capabilities

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA or BS in Engineering, Cyber Security or Computer Science
  • Cyber security design experience within a complex manufacturing environment and industry best practices such as Purdue model
  • Industry security certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
